1962 VW Singlecab
We have been looking through some of our old photos and came across these of our old shop truck. This VW Single Cab was a 1961 model which is the last year for bullet turn signals and small snowflake tail lights. It had a 2-litre stroker motor with dual Dellorto 45 carbs, type 3 straight axle conversion with adjustable spring plates, Sway-A-Way torsion bars, super diff type-3 transmission with 3:88 gear, 5 inch narrowed beam, drop spindles, front wilwood disc brakes and a good bit of other perfromance modifications. The single cab ran and drove spectacular, it would light up the tires with just a push of the throttle and cruise at 70mph on the highway with ease. Although we really miss this truck we also remember it being a really tight fit in the cab with anyone over 6 foot tall and it was a sweat box during the summers with limited air flow. Sometimes it is better to let them go and remember the good times that we had when it was still around.
