Laverda Gas Tank and Tail Light
Custom alloy tank for a local Austin Laverda aficionado fitted to a 1975 750 3C. The original fiberglass tank was 3D scanned with a Faro Technologies arm to create a file to use for designing the buck in Solidworks. The buck was then cut out of 14 gauge steel on a Flow waterjet, assembled and utilized to shape the new aluminum panels that are seen here. The original tail light was unsightly and distracted from the beautiful lines of the motorcycle. We utilized Solidworks, a CAD program, to design a new one with LED lighting for the license plate illumination and then also designed and built a new stop and running light from LED's. The new lighting is miniscule and blends into the bike seamlessly but is also highly visible.
